A Look Inside the Spanish Collection: A History of Spanish and Mexican Land Grants
Presenter: Carlos Varela, PhD

The Spanish Collection at the Texas General Land Office holds the original Spanish and Mexican titles in Texas. Dr. Varela's presentation will not only provide a history of land grants but will summarize the different GLO catalogs and how those resources, along with their digital finding aids and research tools, can be used to conduct genealogical research.

HOGAR de Dallas 2024 Conference
Don't forget to register for this year's conference, the 44th Annual Texas Hispanic Genealogical and Historical Conference hosted by HOGAR de Dallas to be held on October 4-5, 2024. Click here for hotel reservations and registration details.

November, 2024

The meeting in November will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel so that we can elect officers for the term January 2025 to December 2026. We will celebrate our vote with pan de dulce and coffee.
More details are coming in a few weeks.

Study Group

TGSA Study Group

TGSA Study Group meets every third Thursday of the month from 1PM to 5PM.

Beginners learn how to use FamilySearch, as well as how to fill out Pedigree sheets, how to read Mexican records and how to interview family members. Computers, books, journals and pedigree lines are provided plus there's one to one instruction.
Members and the public are invited to attend if you need help or a place to do your research.
